Patch v2
Demo v2 is here with some code rework and new features.
The game is still very barebone, but it is slowly starting to play better. The main content of this update is the rework of the majority of code behind spawn mechanics. As I mentioned in a previous devlog, this game was originally created to be included in another game. At that time, I made this with clear intent over the course of about 3 days. It was based on straightforward code - it did what it was supposed to, but it did not offer much of modifying or expanding. So now, after a few hours of work, I can add basically anything.
New features include setting to adjust movement speed of incoming blocks and enable occasional spawn of two blocks at the same time.
In this version you can set Normal and Fast block movement speed. I originally also planned to include a Random movement speed option so that sometimes the blocks would rush in front of another to add difficulty. After some testing, I found out this option sometimes made it extremely hard/impossible to correctly select “defending” blocks. For now, I have decided not to include this option, but it might come back in the future if I figure out how to make it more consistent.
Double block spawn setting adds another difficulty level, or two to be more precise. Twin option spawns two identical blocks. This is the easier variant as you can move both hands into the same direction. The harder option is Random - with spawning of two different block shapes, you need to move each hand into different directions or select each block separately.
For next update I am hoping to add variation on block selection and spawn to further customize gameplay.
